ADULT WORKSHOPS
Camp Chosôn provides scheduled workshops
throughout camp week since part of our Mission is to provide adult educational
opportunities. Adults have a rare opportunity to learn more about Korean
foods, culture, traditions, adoption issues, parenting, etc., in a fun,
relaxed atmosphere. These workshops are provided at no additional cost
to all adults who have children enrolled in camp.
Our 2008 Camp workshops are as follows:
Monday, Korean Books - Choosing the Right Book for You and Your Family
and Learn About Camp (with tour); Tuesday, The Culture Paradox
of Adoption - Theory and Research, the Camp Choson Annual Board Meeting
and an InKAS Presentation; Wednesday, Insightful Parenting -
Making Moments Count; Thursday, Korean Cooking Demonstration with
the InKAS. Check your camp folder for times. All the workshops
will be held in the main dining hall.
Whether or not you attend the workshops, all
adults are encouraged to join us in the dining hall for the traditional Korean
meals served at lunchtime. Meal tickets will be available throughout the
week in our Korean Market, and may be purchased ahead of time with the
registration materials.
Below is an example of some of our standard Adult
programming.

Local Korean Restaurants Korean cooking
demonstrations are put on by the local experts that are both instructive and
interactive. Parents learn how to make that favorite dish just like the
pros, along with accompanying dishes.
Theatrical Presentations A
Play pertaining to culture or adoption themes may be featured during one day of
the week. These Plays have been known to bring tears to the eyes of the
many attending. Children's
Home Society Representatives from CHS
usually have a presentation for parents that is both timely and pertinent to
camp. TEEN
PANEL Selected teenagers from the
Resident Camp discuss life issues growing up in America as a
Korean-American. This presentation is enlightening, informative and
usually one of our best attended forums. This is one time the teenagers
get to tell parents what they should and shouldn't do! Arts
and Crafts Learn how to re-create what
it is your child does at camp so these fun activities can be enjoyed throughout
the year. Many More!!
