CAMP VENUE INFORMATION

Our current camp venue is an exciting camp still being developed by the Girl Scouts of St. Croix Valley.  It is called Camp Rolling Ridges and is located in northeast Hudson, Wisconsin.  The camp is on 550 acres of rolling hills with wooded areas and a small lake.  New to the camp in 2002, is the enormous dining hall (pictured below) with kitchen facilities that would make any Food Director drool.  It overlooks the soccer fields and can accommodate up to 600 people!  Also new in 2002 is one of the camp's biggest attractions, the Aquatic Center.  It features an "L" shaped pool holding as many as 100 swimmers, has ample area for tanning and has a wading pool entrance on one end for the "little guys".

While most of the facilities are new, Rolling Ridges has been around for quite some time.  The land was acquired by the Girl Scouts from several separate purchases of farm land from 1966 to 1972.  However, the Girl Scouts only had a few buildings on the land initially and only in recent years, has it been developed into one of their largest camp facilities.

The Day Camp has two conveniently located program centers with easy access to multiple protective, but open, shelters where some of our activities and most of our classes will take place.  The Resident Camp has a two large troop houses on-site; one of them was just built in 2003 with privacy and bathroom space in mind, and has room for sixty campers!  There are plans to soon remodel the old troop house area.  In addition, Resident Camp will be able to take advantage of housing at another part of camp called Windy Acres.  It has a farmhouse and nature center a short walk away on an adjacent piece of property (see site map at link below and pictures on bottom of this page).  This location will give our Resident Campers additional space to call their own for the week and offers other advantages over the on-site troop houses.

A Camp Choson Site Map and Directions to Camp Choson are available here for viewing and reference.

Day Camp and Resident Camp activities are designed to give our kids more of what they want and capitalize on the special features offered by this venue!  Check it out on our Camp Activities Page!!
